Practical Case: Arianna Poddu
Arianna Poddu, 47 years old, came to me for extremely debilitating gastro-duodenitis, which she had suffered from since she was 13. Over time, it had become increasingly painful, with more frequent spasms that forced her to take proton pump inhibitors, despite trying every type of natural supplement, as well as taking prolonged leaves from work when the pain became unbearable.
She had undergone tests that did not reveal any ulcers or more serious problems.
Arianna is a nurse originally from Sardinia (Cagliari province), married with five children.
She lives and works in the province of Bologna and suffers from hypothyroidism.
She is attracted to natural remedies and regularly practices meditation.
She also suffers from hemorrhoids.
I asked her what was happening in her life when she was 13, the age when these gastro-duodenitis attacks began. She told me that due to her parents’ separation, she suffered greatly from her father’s absence, as he had left home abruptly.
As a child, she displayed creativity, loved reading and writing, and her “being in the clouds” was criticized by her father and seen as useless by her mother because her gastro-duodenitis prevented her from helping around the house.
1st session – 28/10/2022
In the first TAI session, I explained the method I intended to use with her, describing it as a powerful “turbo” for energy rebalancing and the development of human potential, designed to work on everything that is “too much” and has thus frozen in a space-time.
I explained that the technique works on three energy centers or three brains, located in the abdomen, three fingers below the navel, in the chest area, and between the eyebrows, in the center of the head. The process involves focusing attention on each center while repeating specific, intentional, and deeply transformative phrases.
I also explained that, in addition to our work together, the process required her active collaboration every day, even just for 10 minutes, by connecting with the three centers, breathing, and repeating the transformative phrases.
We began by working on the theme of absence, which proved to be “too heavy” for her 13-year-old self, in the midst of adolescence. She had developed gastro-duodenitis, which forced her mother to take care of her and made her father stay home.
I asked if there was an image that disturbed her, and she said that her father’s absence felt like a black lead stone weighing on her stomach and causing her pain.
I asked how present this image was on a scale of 0 to 10, and she replied 8.
I asked her to take deep breaths and had her repeat the following phrases:
- I take back my power and release the energy held in the lead stone on my stomach.
- I let go of all attachment and identification with the lead stone weighing on my stomach.
- I create order and coherence in myself regarding the lead stone weighing on my stomach.
The stress level dropped from 8 to 4.
I asked what this “4” referred to—whether it was something she saw, felt, or perceived—and she said it was a feeling of deep darkness, which created fear.
I asked when she had first felt this fear and what was happening in her life. She replied that it was the darkness of loneliness, with the belief that she had been a burden to her father. She felt guilty, as if her father had left for good because of her stomach problems.
I had her repeat the phrases, working on:
- The belief that she had been a burden to her father
- The fantasy that her father was absent because she was “too” sick
- The experiences that confirmed in her imagination that every time her father left, she became sick, and it was “always” like that.
After two rounds of TAI, the level dropped to “zero.”
I gave her the task of repeating the sequence every day for at least 10 minutes until the next session, warning her that every time she repeated the phrases, she would be updating her system.
2nd session – 07/11/2022
She told me that her stomach pain had tormented her in recent days, and she had unsettling dreams.
Her sense of guilt had intensified—she had always felt guilty as a teenager because she was a “burden” and was always sick.
We worked on the sense of guilt, which had an intensity level of 7 and had resurfaced more strongly over the days. The phrases I suggested were:
- I take back my power and release the energy held in the sense of guilt, from the first time I felt it.
- I let go of all attachment and identification with the sense of guilt, from the first time I experienced it.
- I create order and coherence in myself regarding the sense of guilt.
We then worked on the beliefs and fantasies:
- The belief that she was a burden, which generated the sense of guilt.
- The fantasy that her father left because she was a burden and was “always” sick.
- The experiences of her illness, which created a vicious circle: the more she was sick, the guiltier she felt, and the more the fantasy grew that her father left because she was always sick and ashamed of such a problematic daughter.
We closed the session with the phrase, “I align all my systems with my ongoing change and new awareness.”
The stress level dropped to “zero.” I asked her to repeat the phrases daily for at least 10 minutes, warning her that her condition might worsen.
3rd session – 23/11/2022
After the session, she had many dreams.
She said the stomach pain seemed to “move” and shift in all directions.
I asked her who in her life “moves” and shifts, and she replied that it was her husband, who is a traveling sales representative for yarns and often travels for work, leaving her alone. This absence scared her, just as it did when her father left.
Her stomach pain had become her companion—something familiar during absences and loneliness, an automatic sequence that activated.
Stress level: 7.
We worked on this activating frequency, and I invited her to repeat the following phrases:
- I take back my power and release the energy held in the sequence that activates and in the companion of stomach pain.
- I let go of all attachment and identification with the sequence that activates and the companion of stomach pain.
- I create a new order and coherence in myself regarding the frequency that activates and the companion of stomach pain and what it represents for me (a companion in absences).
The stress level dropped to 4. I asked if this “4” was something she saw, felt, or perceived, and she said it was a feeling. I asked what was “too much” for her, and she replied that it was too much to let go. Sometimes, she felt like the stomach pain was about to go away, and she would think, “How nice, I don’t have stomach pain,” but then the pain would “hear” her words and return, not letting go, reminding her that it was right to have it.
We did a round of TAI on letting go:
- The belief that she shouldn’t let go, just as the stomach pain doesn’t let go, and the attachment to not letting go.
- The fantasy that if she let go, the stomach pain might go away, and maybe she wasn’t ready to let it go.
- The experiences that showed her she should hold on and that this was a way to exercise control.
We closed the session with the phrase, “I align all my systems with my ongoing change and new awareness.”
The stress level dropped to zero.
She sent me a voice message asking if it was worth continuing because the stomach pain kept torturing her, and she felt it was pointless to continue, despite the suggested phrases and recommended supplements. She was thinking of stopping the process.
I invited her to reflect on everything she had done up to that point—her meditation journey, the Pilates course she had joined, the new awareness that had led her to start our TAI sessions.
I told her I would accept any decision and invited her to come one last time for a “closure” session if that was her final decision.
I suggested that, “thanks” to the stomach pain, she had allowed herself to begin new journeys, as if this pain had provided the motivation to finally do something for herself. She agreed, adding that she had also talked to her husband to find a way to reduce his absences for work. She realized that when her husband traveled for work, she felt alone with the children. Managing five kids was a very complex task, and these responsibilities manifested in her stomach, which had become “the only certainty” for her. Her husband was willing to reevaluate his priorities and give more importance and value to the family.
Following this reflection, Arianna decided to resume her TAI sessions.
4th session – 06/12/2022
She returned, determined to accept the stomach pain, to let go and take what comes, simply observing the pain.
I suggested that she speak to the pain, the stomach pain, and say:
“Hello stomach pain, here you are again. What do you need to show me? What do you bring? What is there for me today with your presence?
What do you want to show me?”
The first words she said were:
- Accept
- Embrace
- Understand
“I take responsibility for my ability to make it through, not for the illness.”
I said, “Let’s pretend there is a benefit to this situation. What could be the secondary benefit?”
The benefit is that if she feels unwell, someone (her husband) will notice her today.
I invited her to consider that she could take care of herself and nourish the relationship without “creating stomach pain.”
After discussing her case with Andrea Fredi, I invited the client to repeat the following phrases:
- I take back my power and release the energy held in my story.
- I let go of all attachment and identification with my story.
- I create order and coherence in myself regarding my story.
- I taught her how to do Instant TAI and to practice the Drsti pose.
We paused for the Christmas holidays, but I encouraged her to continue practicing for at least 10 minutes a day with the phrases and recordings I had sent her.
5th session – 11/01/2023
She told me that at times, she had been well, without stomach pain. When I asked her what had happened that was different on the days when she didn’t have stomach pain, she said she didn’t know.
I asked if she had practiced TAI every day, and she said yes, but from her body language—scratching her eye and ear as she responded—I suspected she hadn’t been consistent.
However, she told me that following our work, some situations had changed:
- She had reconnected with her husband, talking more with him and finding ways to go out with him, leaving the children at her brother’s house, who lives nearby.
- She had decided to start the liver and intestinal detox program I had proposed.
She came to the studio with stomach pain at a level of 7, feeling pain, heaviness, and a lack of joy.
I had her write on a piece of paper everything that represented her stomach pain, asking her to jump on it and break it into 1,000 pieces. Then we proceeded with TAI.
After the first round of TAI, a scene emerged: a symbol—a burning reflection of the sun on the glass of a car, giving her a sense of oppression. It was “too” hot.
I asked what car it was and if she was inside the car feeling “too hot.” She said she didn’t know the car and wasn’t inside.
After a second session, I worked on the sun’s reflection, having her repeat the phrases:
- I take back my power and release the energy held in the “burning” reflection of the sun on the glass.
- I let go of all attachment and identification with the burning reflection of the sun on the glass.
- I create order and coherence in myself regarding the burning reflection of the sun on the glass.
She had an insight: the burning reflection of the sun was what she had perceived one summer day when her father smiled at her while they sang a song together. She realized that from that moment on, everything changed—it was the last time her father smiled and was happy with her. In spatial terms, she saw herself behind that young girl observing the scene.
At this point, I worked with TAI LASER, having her repeat the phrases:
- I take back my power and release the energy held in that space-time.
- I let go of all attachment and identification with my reactions connected to that space-time.
- I create and send harmonic frequencies to my younger self in that space-time.
The pain level dropped to 5.
I asked her what had been too much for her and what family elements benefited from the stomach pain. After another round of TAI, the pain level rose to 7.
At that point, we did another round of TAI on “my story,” and the level dropped to 4-5 (she said it felt more like 4).
She said that despite the heaviness in her stomach, she felt light.
We closed the session with the intention of repeating the phrases about “my story,” and we agreed to meet after starting the detox program, around the end of January.
I felt the need to close the session, as I was also feeling a heaviness in my stomach.
6th session – closing session on 31/01/2023
She returned with stomach pain but also had positive news: her husband had become deeply empathetic with her, drawing closer and understanding her pain. He had spoken with his company and chosen to reduce his travel.
She had consistently done the TAI exercises.
She had reconnected with her father, forgiving him for the separation and realizing that he hadn’t separated from her but from her mother. She sent love to the little girl who had felt abandoned and hurt. No more resentment—the father had done what he could at that time, and she forgave him, and the young girl had forgiven him too.
As the desire to forgive emerged more and more, I suggested she repeat the following phrases while doing a round of EFT (solve), then TAI (coagula):
EFT:
Karate Point: Even though I’ve thought, at some level, “How can you love your father after everything he did to your mother and after the separation,” I now know, more and more, that I can open myself to the possibility of accepting the discrepancy between the image I had of what a father should be and what he actually turned out to be.
Crown: I am aware of the father he was.
Eyebrow: And as a young girl, I suffered until I felt stomach pain.
Side of Eye: And every time my father left, the stomach pain increased.
Under Eye: And he worried about me and spoke to my mother.
Under Nose: And I felt important.
Chin: It was a temporary state because the stomach pain kept repeating.
Collarbone: And as a result, I felt useless and guilty.
Under Arm: But now I know, more and more, that that scared little girl needed to feel guilty and embrace the stomach pain to get attention.
Under Breast: And I know that today I can talk to her despite everything that happened and open myself to the possibility of starting a new path, forgiving with my heart.
Karate Point: Because the change starts with me, and I want it.
INTERNAL TAI:
- I draw from the energy held in the stomach pain and guide it to my center (I asked her to visualize a flow from the scene entering the 1st Dantian).
- I align this energy with the frequency of my Higher Self.
- I direct it towards the manifestation of my goal, which is to forgive and heal myself.
I asked her to visualize an image that represented healing to her, and she replied that it was the smile of her children playing on the beach.
We closed with hands on the heart chakra: “I align my systems with my ongoing change” and three long, deep breaths.
We said goodbye, and she thanked me for the journey together, for everything that had come to light—deep situations she hadn’t thought about—and said she recognized that she had made a significant shift in her life.
She listed all the changes she had achieved through our work together:
- The stomach pain had been a way to go inward, explore her pain, and give herself attention, putting herself first.
- She had started meditation and yoga practices.
- She recognized that the discomfort was a response to feeling abandoned by her father, and that her father had left her mother, not her as his daughter.
- She sent love and made peace with her younger self, regaining her self-image.
- This awareness allowed her to forgive her father and reconnect with him.
- Her husband fully understood her pain and had taken steps in his work to stay closer to the family and her.
We agreed to meet again in a few months for a TAI “check-up.”
I feel very grateful. I realize that I have “grown” through TAI and this specific case with this client and have gained even more confidence in my ability to help.
I’m ready.
